A Dickinson County man was badly burned in an accident late Tuesday afternoon that caused a large grass fire.
Officials tell KSAL News that at 4:14 in the afternoon Dickinson County Fire District #1 was called to Four Seasons RV Park at 2504 Mink Road for a burn victim. The victim, an 83-year -old man, had severe burns to his upper body.
The victim was flown from the scene to the Via Christi St. Francis burn unit.
The victim had an issue with an old ford 8N tractor. There was a flash fire which caused the burn injuries. It also set the surrounding grass on fire.
The fire consumed about 85 acres of grass and pasture land.
The Grant Township Fire district and Sherman/Frangrant Hill fire Districts also assisted in fighting the fire.
