John R. Gilpin, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022. He was born in Hutchinson to Samuel and Dorothy (Wackler) Gilpin.
Johnny owned and operated COP, Central Office Products, in Salina for many years and was in sales his entire life.
He was a dedicated member of the Salina Isis Shriners and their Recorder for 15 years. He was also involved with the Shriners Hospital and prided himself on the extensive work he did helping children get the medical treatment they needed.
Johnny never met a stranger and loved to spend time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alli Baskerville.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Gladys Gilpin; sons, Randy Gilpin (Lisa), Rick Gilpin (Holly); grandchildren, Abbi Bohlmann (Richard), Chelsea Gipson, Macy Graves (Aaron), Megan Gilpin; great-grandchildren, Austin, Sydni, Madison, Carson, Tatum, Porter; and siblings, Larry Gilpin (Linda), Gary Gilpin (Cathy), Marilyn Maes (Jim).
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 7th at First Lutheran Church, Dorrance, KS. Burial will follow in Dorrance Cemetery.
