Mildred Allene Pugh, 91, of Salina, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. She was born at home on Christmas Day, December 25, 1930, in Salina, Kansas, to Martin D. and Ersulla (Rand) Eikelberger.
She graduated from Washington High School in Salina, in 1948.
She married Robert F. Johnson on June 6, 1948. There were two children born to this union. A son, Russell Kent Johnson and a daughter, Janelle Anette Johnson, Robert F. Johnson, passed away on May 13, 1984.
On October 12, 1991, Mildred married James F. Pugh. As a result of this union there was an added stepson, Scott, and his wife Latda Pugh, of Salina, and stepdaughter, Cheryl and husband Joe Shannon, of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lloyd Eikelberger, her first husband Robert F. Johnson, her second husband James F. Pugh, and a stepson, Scott Pugh.
She is survived by a son Russell and wife Margie Johnson, Moses Lake Washington and a Janelle and husband Bill Gerry, Salina. There are also 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, each of them loved dearly.
During her adult life she worked for Stiefel’s department store, in the office of Webb Johnson Electric, and as teller for People’s Heritage Savings and Loan.
After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling in their motor home. She also enjoyed many years of volunteer work at Asbury and Salina Regional Health Center as an escort and serving at the information desk, as well as at the Red Cross Blood Drives.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 12, at Ryan Mortuary, with Pastor Steve Holmes, as officiant. Inurnment will take place in Roselawn Memorial Park.
