Denise Irene Adamson (60) passed away peacefully in the care of hospice and Minneapolis Health and Rehab Center in Minneapolis, KS on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022, at 5:52 pm. She was born January 27th, 1962, in Ottumwa, IA to Dorothy Bell (McConnell) and Rev. Lenard Roy Adamson. She was the youngest of 6 children.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, her brothers; Leonard, James (Jimmy), Gary, and Tim, and her sister Pauline Hamilton. She is survived by her adopted son Timothy (TJ) Adamson of Wichita, KS, an Aunt Marcene Powers of Easley, SC, Aunt Alberta Stanlek, Uncle Dwight McConnell both of Cedar Rapids, IA, countless nieces and nephews, cousins, and many family friends.
Denise went to Mt. Vernon Bible College and finished her degree at Brown Mackie, then later became the youth pastor of First Foursquare (Living Water) Church in Salina, KS. She was the arts and crafts instructor as well as a group leader at Camp Pomme De Terre in Missouri. She was incredibly involved in the church. She also worked several jobs as a Chef.
Denise knew no stranger. She had a way of making everyone feel important, loved, and welcome. She always went above and beyond for those she loved and cared about. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
A celebration of life in her honor will be on Saturday, November 19th, at Emmanuel Foursquare Church in Salina, KS, at 10 am. Inurnment will proceed at Highland Cemetery in Minneapolis, KS. Her body was cremated, and Ryan Mortuary is handling arrangements.
