The head of the Kansas Department of Transportation is stepping down.

KDOT Secretary Julie Lorenz has announced her resignation.

Governor Laura Kelly called Lorenz a “visionary transportation secretary,” and she noted her ability to build strong coalitions.

Director of the Division of Engineering and Design, Calvin Reed, will serve as interim transportation secretary.
