One of the top officials in the Kansas Department of Transportation is stepping down.

The agency announced yesterday that Deputy Secretary and state transportation engineer Burt Morey is retiring on December 23rd.

Morey previously worked as a KDOT metro engineer in Johnson County and as the city engineer in Overland Park.
