Kay William Tappendick, of Salina, KS, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Kay was born on July 21, 1949, in Ellsworth, KS. He was the son of Oscar and Deloris Tappendick.
Kay was a long time FedEx driver, and a driver for OCCK for the past 4 years.
Tapper will be remembered by his ability to make everyone’s day a little brighter with his quick wit and infectious laughter.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Denise (Johnson) Tappendick; son, Shaun Tappendick; daughter, Shanelle Marshall; grandchildren, Kayden Tappendick (Brandy Birdsong) and Noah Marshall (Josh Marshall), all of Salina; and many other family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eugene; and sisters, Sharon and Sylvia.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Trinity Methodist Church, 901 E. Neal, Salina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gentiva Hospice of Salina.
