Patricia “Pat” Mary Ann Carter, 75, of Salina, KS, was called home to Jesus on January 12, 2023, while surrounded by her children. Pat was born March 10, 1947, in Salina, to Ida Bushyhead (Speer) and Fred Pulk. She was the youngest of Ida’s five children. She is survived by a whole slew of family spread throughout the US – from Florida to Alaska!
Sister: Victoria Brockelman of CA. Nieces/Nephews: Susan Scriven, Salina; Diana (Robby) Mattingly, KY, Sabrina (John) Tuney, AK, Craig (LeAnn) Brockelman, OR, Mike (Jenny) Scriven, WA, and Matt (Casi) Scriven, Salina. Daughters: Tina (Robert) Eubanks and Sheila Carter, Salina, and Lisa Carter, WA. Grandchildren: Teresa Aguilar, Christina (Jeremy) Keim, Robby Bisterfeldt, all of Salina, Justin (Alexius) Carter, FL, Wynetta Carter, OH, Elijah Carter, GA, and Joshua Carter, WA. Great-grandchildren: 20 of them!
Pat worked hard at whatever she did, a trait she learned from her father. If you knew Pat in the last 40 years then you knew her to be a wonderful, kind, and caring person. She volunteered at the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank for several years and was still helping with Commodities distribution. She held the position of “card lady” sending celebratory and special occasion card for her church family at Ray Avenue Baptist Church for many years.
If you knew Pat in her earlier days, then you knew the young mother, the dancer, the partier, the cook/waitress/bouncer and all-around hell-raiser with beautiful blue eyes, cat-eyeglasses, long hair styled in a beehive, and poodle skirts!
Pat loved her family tremendously and you didn’t need to be related to be part of her family. She loved the Lord and honored Him through service to others. She will be missed by many.
Please join us in celebrating her life at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 23, at Ray Avenue Baptist Church, Salina.
