Lawrence Dale Lehman, 87, died January 18, 2023 surrounded by his family. Lawrence was born September 14, 1935 in Salina, KS. He is the son of Maurice D. Lehman and Ila M. (Holliday) Lehman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita A. Lehman; a son, Douglas E. Lehman l; two sisters, Lucille Alldaffer and Leanna Swenson; a brother, Donald Lehman; and a nephew, Mark Swenson.
He is survived by his daughter, Anita Lehman of Colorado Springs; a son, Scott Lehman of Colorado Springs; and a daughter, Debra Garcia of Florissant; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.
Lawrence was born at Asbury Hospital in Salina. He attended school in Gypsum, KS and was raised on his parents farm southeast of Gypsum with his sisters and brother. He married Rita A. (Larsen)Lehman on July 19, 1958.
He was in the Army Reserves for eight years and served at Base Carson (Fort Carson) in Colorado. He was a police officer for 12 years and served on the force in Salina, Boulder, CO and Colorado Springs.
He and his wife, Rita, enjoyed bowling, camping with their children, playing cards, horseshoes and garage sales.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at the Gypsum City Cemetery in Gypsum, KS.
