Lyle Dean Scott, 88, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023. He was born on the family farm in Cloud County to H. Lee and Evelyn J. (Shunn) Scott.
Lyle proudly served in the United States Army as a Sergeant and was stationed in Germany. He had many jobs over the years including farm hand, apprentice cabinet maker, aircraft maintenance, but electrical work was his passion. He worked with Ratts Electric in Concordia, KS and later became a master electrician and owner of Electrical Equipment Co. in Salina. Lyle was a past member of the IES-NECA and Salina Construction Association. Lyle was also very involved in the Salina Scottish Rite, Salina Isis Shrine, and Masonic Lodge No. 60.
He was preceded by his parents; two sisters, Virginia Scott, Phyllis Giroux; and a brother, Harold Scott.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Marilyn Scott; three children, Kurtis (Gena) of Lawrence, Kristine Zey (Steve) of Papillion, NE, Kevin (Sherri) of Topeka; grandchildren, Michelle Hakkarinen (Michael) of Cottonwood Heights, UT, Scott (Jackie) of Estes Park, CO, Spenser (Malori) of Topeka, Katherine Scott of Atlanta, Morgan Schumacher (Tyler) of Topeka, Andrew Scott of Topeka; great-grandchildren, Walker Dee Scott, Tyler Ann, Jay Edward, Everett Lane Schumacher all of Topeka, Katharine Page Hakkarinen and Collin August Hakkarinen both of Cottonwood Heights; brothers, Dale of Albuquerque, Gale (Linda) of Topeka, Leon of Oregon, Clyde (Sylvia) of Manhattan, KS, and Greg of Oregon.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
