Larry Lane was born on April 30, 1948, to Everton and Lillian (Christ) (Dowden) Lane, in Salina, Kansas. He Passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023, surrounded by family in his home.
Larry suffered from COPD and had returned to his home under the care of Gentiva Hospice.
He graduated from Salina High School in 1967. He then was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam War. Larry returned to Salina after his service in 1972, where he began his career with the City of Salina, until his retirement in 2010. He was married to Neva (Davis) (Yeagley) on May 12, 1990. Larry spent much of his free time fishing and boating.
Larry is survived by his son, Trenten (Hannah) Walters, Salina, and stepson Jared (Marie) Yeagley, of Wichita. A Sister, Roma (Troy) Zachary, and brother, Hal (Cindy) Lane, and sister-in-law, Patricia Lane of Oklahoma. Nephews; Josh (Amanda) Lane, Jeremy (Lori) Lane, nieces, Barbara Bauman, Belinda McDaniel, Stacy (Barry) Doyle, and Alyssa (Eric) Lane-Blancho. Great nieces and nephews, and his companion cat, Indiana Jones.
Larry is preceded in death by, his parents, Everton, and Lillian Lane, his wife Neva Lane, a brother, Ronnie Lane, and nephew Eric Bauman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on a come-and-go basis, starting at 1 pm, and ending at 3:30 pm on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Lakewood Discovery Center. We will focus on the fact that it would have been Larry’s 75th birthday, so we will be serving cake to celebrate.
