Marilyn Karlin, 84, of Salina, Kansas passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Oakley, Kansas, on December 7, 1938, the second child of eight in her loving family.
In August of 1956, Marilyn married the love of her life, Norman Karlin. They were happily married for 66 years. Norman and Marilyn were blessed with two daughters, Deanna and Barbara.
Marilyn enjoyed helping others and shared her many talents. She had a knack for decorating, cooking, and making things special for everyone. She remembered all her family and friends’ birthdays and other holidays by always sending that special card.
Throughout the years she had numerous jobs including at Salina Vo-Tech, Salina Credit Union, and the Railroad Credit Union. Always a dedicated worker and making good friends along the way.
She enjoyed lots of fun times at their cabin at Cedar Bluff, entertaining friends and family, vacations and family reunions, and trips out west to Oregon and California to visit their daughters and grandchildren. She had a green thumb and enjoyed her time in her lovely flower gardens.
Marilyn was an incredible wife, mother, and grandma. She is survived by husband, Norman, of the home; daughter, Deanna (Greg), and Barbara (Mark); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn will be forever missed and never forgotten. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Ryan Mortuary, in Salina. Lunch will follow.
