Carol Ann (Percival) Fritz passed away on April 27, 2023. She was born on September 1, 1937, to Robert Clay and Opal Ann (Crooks) Percival in Salina, KS. She was the firstborn child in the family and grew up with sister, Suzy (Percival) Yeagley, and brother, Bob Percival.
Carol graduated from Salina High School, Class of 1955, where she met her husband, Daniel George Fritz. She then went on to graduate from Salina Beauty Academy and married Danny in 1958. She worked as a beauty operator for many years.
In addition, she was a full-time babysitter, a seamstress in a jeans factory, an upholsterer and bookkeeper at her husband, Danny’s, shop, Precision Automotive, where she also did body work on cars. She worked at the Jeans Factory for several years, drove a bus for the Salina school system, and spent most of her working years as a Lunch Lady for USD 305 at Salina High School Central, Meadowlark Elementary, Oakdale Elementary, Sunset Elementary, and Cottonwood Elementary.
She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church where she spent many years as an 8th grade Sunday School Teacher during the 70s. She enjoyed sewing, oil painting, traveling with Danny and his ‘57 Chevy, “Sylvester,” on the drag racing circuit, helping in the pits, and cheering for son, Clark, at the Salina Speedway.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel G. Fritz, father, Robert “Clay” Percival, mother, Opal Ann “Perci” (Crooks) Percival, and daughter, Julie Ann Fritz.
Survivors include daughter, Laurie (Fritz) Moravec and husband, Paul Green; son, Clark D. Fritz and wife, Danette, of Salina; sister, Suzy (Percival) Yeagley and husband, Larry; brother, Bob Percival and wife, Cindy, of Lee’s Summit, MO; 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Ryan Mortuary.
