A Kansas high school was placed on lockdown after a student brought a pellet gun to school.

Police say that Lawrence High School was lockdown after a 14-year-old student was reported to be in possession of a firearm.

The student was not carrying the pellet gun when he reentered the school while it was locked down.

Police later found the gun in nearby Veteran’s Park, and the student was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.
