Shane Lee Scates, 53, passed away on January 03, 2024 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Shane was born on February 08, 1970 in Carroll County, AR to parents Kenneth Dale and Kathleen Margo (Johnson) Scates.

Shane was a hardworking man working as a repairman for many years of his life. He loved fishing, camping, sports and many more hobbies. A diehard fan of the chiefs and the razorbacks “Wooo pig sooiee”. His greatest enjoyment came from his family and his kids. Shane was part of the Picher, Oklahoma Gorillas football team and helped them win the State Championship in 1984.

He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Kathy Scates; Brother: Bobby Scates; Sister: Misty Scates.

Shane is survived by his wife Shawna Lynn Scates; Children Weston Scates of Salina, KS, Zachary Scates of Brunswick, GA, Kendra Scates of Salina, KS, Megan Scates of Salina, KS, Thomas Scates of Salina, KS, Antonio Vallejo of Salina, KS, Dalton Davenport of Palco, KS; Mother: Jill Scates of Salina, KS; Brother: Chad Scates of Eureka Springs, AR; Sister: Kandi Scates of Wichita, KS; Brother: Joshua Exline and spouse Kayla of Spring, TX; Sister: Kelly Ekeler and spouse Jason of Lincoln, NE and 7 Grandchildren.

Private services are being held in the Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel in Salina, KS.
