Olay Siyajuck, 71, of De Soto, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born in Vientiane, Laos to Phomalee and Boun Phonkhamlay on December 15, 1952. She married Sene Siyajuck in Laos. After spending multiple years in re-education camps in Laos, she then spent two years in immigration camps in Thailand as a displaced person. She immigrated to Modesto, CA as a refugee with her family. She then moved to Salina, KS in 1992, where she worked at Tony’s Pizza Factory for 20 years, retiring in 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 10 siblings; and son, Xay Sana Siyajuck.
Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Sene; children, Sooksavay Siyajuck of Overland Park, Thipmalay Lynn (Siyajuck) of Fort Campbell, KY, and Chantha Siyajuck of Lenexa. She was Mathu to nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be at noon on Friday, February 23, 2024 followed by the ceremony at Ryan Mortuary, Salina with Buddhist Monks as celebrant. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, in Salina, at 2:30 p.m. After the burial a reception will be held at 4 p.m. at the Buddhist Temple of Salina.
Olay liked yellow flowers and they may be sent to Ryan Mortuary for the ceremony.
