Robert Emmett Sheehy Jr., 92, of Salina, Kan., passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024. He was born on January 26, 1932, in Kansas City, Mo., to Robert and Ella (Lane) Sheehy.
Bob grew up in Kansas City, graduating from Rockhurst High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. Bob worked in construction his entire career, retiring as a Project Manager with Kraus-Anderson Construction Company of Minneapolis, Minn. He was an amateur radio operator and member of First Covenant Church of Salina. He loved living on the farm in retirement, playing music, and the challenge of jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Above all else, family was the most important to him.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eleanor (Cummings) Sheehy; children, Bob (Shelly), Julie, and Frank (Deb); sisters, Mary Lou Hill, Kathleen Sheehy, and Nancy Kern (René); and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and brother-in-law, John Hill.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 1, at First Covenant Church, 2625 E Magnolia Rd, Salina. A private burial will be held at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
