A Salina man was hurt in a head-on crash early Wednesday morning that killed another man.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 55-year-old Gerald Wolken from Greeley, Kansas, was driving a 1988 Ford F 250 pickup truck headed west on Kansas 68 Highway. He swerved left of center and hit an oncoming semi head-on.

Wolken was pronounced dead at the scene.

The semi driver, 50-year-old Franklin Britton from Salina, was hurt. he was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

The KHP says that Wolken was not wearing a seat belt, while Britton was.

The crash happened at 12:20 Wednesday morning on Kansas 68 Highway, about 1.5 miles East of U.S. 169 Highway in Miami County.
