Marilyn Sorenson, 76, was born Marilyn Murdick on July 6, 1947 in Ottawa County, KS.

She married Jerry Sorenson in 1989 and he survives of the home.  Other survivors include her three children, David Spain, Shellie Spain, and Jason Thayer; stepchildren, Jerry Lee Sorenson, Jeana Breen, Jody Gawith; seven grandchildren and numerous bonus grandchildren and friends.

Marilyn was a woman with a quick wit, strong opinions and a wicked sense of humor.  She never met a store she didn’t like, she loved to experiment with recipes and share her creations with others, she had an affinity for all things purple and loved to garden.  She will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be the hour before the funeral from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 all at Ryan Mortuary.  Burial will follow in Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina.
