An investigation is underway after a body was found on a frozen creek Thursday evening.

Saline County Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that a body was found on the ice on Mulberry Creek, in a wooded area in the 1900 Block of North 5th Street. The area, located behind the Bosselman Pilot Truck Stop, is just out of the city limits and is located in Saline County.

The sheriff says that the Salina Fire Department was called to assist in retrieving the body off the ice.

The case is being treated as an unattended death. An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the death, and the identity.
