Margaret “Margie” Eberhardt Wilson, aged 97, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2024, at Presbyterian Manor, Salina, Kansas. Born on February 2, 1927, in Salina, she was the daughter of Frank Lampert Eberhardt and Katherine Curry Eberhardt of Salina.
Maggie was predeceased by her two husbands, Milton S. (“Shipman”) Winter, Jr., of Lawrence and J. William (“Bill”) Wilson of Salina, KS. She was also predeceased by her brothers Frank Christopher Eberhardt, Fred Curry Eberhardt, and Charles Lampert Eberhardt.
A devoted mother, Margie is survived by her two sons, Fred Eberhardt Winter, Santa Fe, NM, and Milton S. (“Mit”) Winter, III, Topeka, KS, and her cousin, Martha H. Rhea, Salina. Her legacy continues through her four grandsons: Milton S. Winter, IV, Samuel A. Winter, Wyatt B. Winter, and Peter B. Winter. Margie took immense pride in her family, always finding joy in their accomplishments and providing unwavering support.
Margie’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff Presbyterian Manor and medical staff who provided her with comfort and support in her final days.
A private graveside services will be held on June 7, 2024, at Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maggie’s memory to the Salina Art Center, PO Box 743, Salina, KS 67402-0743.
