Darlene M. (Oetting) Fischer died Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was born February 2, 1931 at Lincoln County, Kansas to Henry E. & Gertrude M. (Wilbeck) Oetting. Darlene was married to Edgar H. Fischer on April 23, 1950 at Sylvan Grove, Kansas. This union was blessed with a daughter, Miriam Ann & a son, Paul Henry Fischer.

Darlene was a wife, mother, & a homemaker wherever the family lived. Her husband’s job took them to call Silver Spring, Maryland home for many years. In 1996 they moved to Salina, Kansas to retire and to be closer to relatives & friends. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church, Salina, Kansas. She was baptized & confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Russell, Kansas.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband on April 29, 2019, her parents & 5 brothers, Wilbur, Alton, Harold, Loren & Elton. She will be missed by her daughter & son & many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great-nephews, great-great nieces, relatives & friends.

Funeral Service 10 am, Friday July 5th at Ryan Mortuary with Visitation starting at 9 am. Burial to follow at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, 10 miles southeast of Lincoln.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
