The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is releasing its annual crime index report.

According to the report, violent crime in Kansas decreased by three-point-seven percent from 2022 to 2023.

Property crimes increased by two-point-six percent during that same period.

Despite the recent decline, violent crime in Kansas was still eight-point-six percent above the 10-year average.
