An investigation of an animal cruelty case in Valley Center is complete.

The investigation began after the Valley Center High School baseball team was accused of animal cruelty after a chicken was allegedly killed on school grounds.

Investigators determined that insufficient evidence was uncovered to establish the commission of a chargeable crime under state law.
