A plan for paid parking in downtown Wichita is put on hold.

Mayor Lily Wu announced yesterday that the plan will not take effect on January 1st after the proposal drew criticism from business owners and residents.

Officials projected that the paid parking plan would generate three-point-three-million dollars for the city in 2025.
