A Kansas state government building in Topeka was evacuated because of suspicious packages.

Authorities say the packages were delivered yesterday to the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office and the Kansas Attorney General’s Office in Memorial Hall.

Topeka police say several items in the mail had an unknown substance on them, but a field test indicated no hazardous materials.
