Cheri (Harkness Parks) Santiago, residing in Salina, KS, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2024. She was born in Shreveport, LA on June 17, 1944, to Myron and Marcile Harkness. She married Richard Parks in 1962, and they later divorced. There were three children born of that marriage, Stephanie (Shawn) Compton, Kearsten (Mike) Koerner, and Samantha (Dave) Angell. She co-owned several businesses during her time in Hays, KS, including The Coachman’s Inn, Arlo’s Landing, and Wood Concepts.
She later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she met and married Ric Santiago on March 30, 1994. She spent the next several years designing for Custom Cupboards. She returned to Kansas in 2010.
Cheri is survived by her loving husband Ric Santiago; three daughters; grandchildren: Raegan (Josh) Compton, Haelie (Palmer) Boykin, Spencer Angell, Cristina Koerner, Jackson Angell, and Wyatt Angell; and her bonus children: Annette (Steve) Kitts, Jessica Santiago, and David (Alex) Santiago. She also had friends, family and extended family whom she loved and cherished.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Harkness; and parents, Myron and Marcile Harkness.
The Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Burr Oak Ln., Salina, KS.
