Combines are rolling in central Kansas and KSAL Radio’s “Harvest Fest” is in full swing.
KSAL’s Rich Alexander was in Lindsborg yesterday at the Mid Kansas Co-op elevator celebrating an on-air tradition that continues to reach out to Kansas producers and families as the wheat harvest comes in.
Field crews can enjoy a cold drink and a slice of pizza on the house – then head back to the harvest.
The elevator located near the Saline / McPherson County border was bustling with trucks loaded with wheat that has test weights ranging from 61 to 63 pounds.
According to Shane Eck, Manager at MKC in Lindsborg, producers were bringing in 50 to 75 bushels per acre. “Harvest Fest 2013” continues today at the Delphos Co-op in Delphos, Kansas.
