Judette Eulalia (Miller) Fields, 71, of Longford passed away February 15, 2025. She was born at St. John’s Hospital to Bobbie Dean and Mary La (Rice) Miller on February 9, 1954.
Judette grew up in Salina and graduated from Salina South High School in 1972. During her time at Salina South Judette met the love of her life, Timothy Fields in Mrs. Ryan’s Spanish class in 1971. Two years later on June 16, 1973, Timothy and Judette were married. In her youth Judette competed and made a name for herself in barrel racing and pleasure class. In 1984 Judette and Timothy moved to the family farm and built their dream home to raise their children and cattle. Her love for all animals made her a natural at caring for the farm animals and her own rambunctious children. Judette became involved with sports when her children joined, taking them to practice and watching their games. Judette loved her children and the joy of caring for them. In 1990 when her kids started high school, she decided to extend her joy of care giving to those at Ottawa Health Center, starting out as a fitness instructor for those recovering from heart issues. Her passion for those she helped treat and rehabilitate could only be matched by the sweet tender care of a mother. After 10 years of loving care Judette became the Director of Ottawa Health Center and Cardiac Rehab. In 2020 after 30 years at Ottawa Health Center Judette retired. During her retirement Judette kept busy helping others and taking care of the farm. Her mornings on the farm started at 4:30 with a cup of coffee as she tidied the house for the day and by 7:30 she was walking her dogs. Judette was never able to stay still, she had to be taking care of something or someone and her fierce adoration of her 5 grandchildren kept her running across the state to cheer them, hold them and serve them. She will be missed by her family and friends and her caring nature will never be forgotten.
Judette is preceded by her parents Bobbie and Mary Rice.
