A transient with a guitar prompts the brief lockdown of a Saline County School Tuesday morning.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, a woman driving on Interstate-70 pulled over to tell a Kansans Highway Patrol Trooper she thought she had seen a man with a long gun at the Halstead exit on I-70 just west of Salina.
Deputies contacted nearby Ell-Saline Elementary School and staff locked down the building.
The order was lifted a short time later after authorities determined the man had a guitar in a case and was not a threat.
The incident occurred at about 8:15am on Tuesday morning.
Ell-Saline Elementary School is located at 1757 N. Halstead Road.
