The driver of a pickup truck escaped without any serious injuries after ramming into the side of a church Friday afternoon.
Salina Master Police Officer Rande Repp told KSAL News at the scene that 39-year-old Jeremy Lawson was driving a pickup truck, headed north on Ohio Street. Lawson suffered a medical condition, and lost control of the truck.
According to Repp, a medical reaction to low blood sugar caused Lawson to lose control, driver over several lawns, crash into a pole, and into the side of the Salina Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 845 South Ohio.
Lawson was not seriously injured in the crash, and was not transported to the hospital.
A building inspector responded to the scene, and determined that the church was structurally safe.
The crash happened at around 1:15 Friday afternoon.
Repp says that he does not anticipate any citations in the case.
