A Salina man is treated at the hospital for a gunshot wound and then booked into jail on multiple charges.
Police Sergeant Jim Feldman tells KSAL News that an officer on patrol saw 24-year-old Shane McMillin driving in the 600 block of S. 5th Thursday evening at about 5:30pm and pulled him over on an active warrant.
Moments later McMillin exited the car with a gunshot wound to his left thigh. He was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment and released.
A search of the vehicle revealed a handgun, illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
An eyewitness told police at the scene they heard a gunshot fired from inside the car.
McMillin is now facing charges that include criminal discharge of a firearm, possession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
Police say McMillin was wanted for a probation violation.
