A woman is seriously hurt when her husband accidentally backs over her.

Salina Police say that a 91-year-old man was backing out of his driveway Thursday morning at 907 E Jewell. He did not see his 64-year-old wife, who had walked behind the car. The woman was hit, and seriously injured.

The driver immediately transported his wife to Salina Regional Health Center. She was admitted, and is being treated for multiple injuries that include cuts, scrapes, and broken bones.

Police identify the driver as 91-year-old Tobias Cabral. His wife is 64-year-old Maria Cabral.

The accident, which police say is still under investigation, happened at about 8:30 Thursday morning.
