A Salina home away from home is celebrating 20 years of helping families who have ill loved ones.

The Rebecca A. Morrison, 513 S. Eighth Street, is celebrating its 20th anniversary by hosting an Open House Celebration this Friday, July 19th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the backyard. Refreshments, live music, and and tours will be available. The public is invited.

Established in 1993, the Morrison House serves as a home away from home for people from outside Salina who have a loved one as a patient in Salina Regional Health Center. In recent years, the original mission has been expanded to include housing cancer patients receiving treatment at Tammy Walker Cancer Center as well.

There is no charge for guests to stay at the Morrison House. It is supported entirely through contributions.

The Morrison House has provided more than 68,000 nights of accommodations since it first opened.
