An area teen is transported to the hospital after a vehicle rollover.
Captain Roger Soldan with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office tells KSAL News that 14-year-old Madisen Thomason was transported to Salina Regional Hospital after she lost control of the utility vehicle she was driving.
Deputies say Thomason and a passenger, Tyler Weems, 17 were both thrown out of the UTV after passing a car in the 2300 block of Lightville Road on Saturday at about 5:20pm. Neither one was wearing a seat belt.
The Polaris Ranger slid sideways and rolled into a ditch southwest of Salina.
Authorities say Thomason lost conciseness for a short time after the crash but was awake and talking to EMS personnel on the way to the hospital.
Weems had minor abrasions.
