The University of Kansas has received a $2 million gift to establish the first counseling psychology professorship in the School of Education.
The university said in a news release Thursday that it’s the second-largest gift to the School of Education.
The donor wanted to remain anonymous. Rick Ginsberg, dean of the School of Education, said the donor felt the education she received at the university was a positive influence on her life.
The university’s doctoral program in counseling psychology trains people to practice in activities ranging from clinical treatment to academic research.
