A woman who was stabbed during an incident in South Salina early Thursday morning has died.
Salina Police say that at approximately 9:34 a.m. officers were sent to the area of Roach Street and Max Avenue in reference a stabbing. Upon arrival they found a woman in her 40s with a stab wound. She was treated by medics and transported to the Salina Regional Health Center.
The victim was taken to surgery and has died.
The woman had been involved in a disturbance at her residence and was stabbed. She immediately went to a neighbor’s house and asked the person to call police.
Police are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses. The victim’s name is not being released until family members have been notified.

ORIGINAL: Salina Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a Thursday morning stabbing.
Salina Deputy Police Chief Sean Morton tells KSAL News that officers were sent at around 9:30 in the morning to the report of a stabbing, at a home in the 700 block of Max Street, near the intersection with Roach.
Morton says that an injured female victim fled to a neighbor’s house and called for help. She was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center. Details on her condition were not immediately available.
Morton says that a search is on for a suspect.
The intersection of Max and Roach was closed as officers worked the scene.
More details, including names of those involved, were not yet available late Thursday morning.
