About half of parents enrolling their students for USD 305 schools for the upcoming school year used the new on-line process.

According to USD 305, about 77 percent of the total student body is currently enrolled.

Of those that are now enrolled, about 39 percent of them participated in walk-in enrollment at their respective schools on Wednesday of this week. Close to that same number, about 38 percent, took advantage of the new on-line enrollment process.

Officials believe that the on-line enrollment numbers are probably even a little higher because more parents/guardians worked on the process but didn’t complete a final, required button. School staff are currently following up.

The results, and what was learned, will help to fine tune the process for next year.

Classes at Salina USD 305 schools begin in a couple of weeks, on August 14th and 15th. Here is the schedule for the first week:

* Wednesday, August 14, 2013 First Day of School for Grades K – 5 and for Grades 6 and 9 (No School Grades 7,8,10,11,12)

* Thursday, August 15, 2013 All Grade Levels Attend
