U.S. Senator Jerry Moran is ready to listen to Salinans this afternoon.
As part of his Kansas Listening Tour, Senator Moran will hold a public meeting Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 3pm at the K-State Polytechnic’s College Center Conference Room.
Senator Moran joined in on the KSAL Morning News Thursday morning and was asked about what partisan politics is doing on the national stage and in Kansas.
Senator Moran told the audience he often walks past the WW II Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial and Korean War Memorial and thinks about the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, “Americans who are honored and respected in those settings – not one of them joined the military, fought for their country as republicans or democrats. It was about America,” he said.
“That’s what we desperately need. Elected officials in particular and I would say American citizens as well need to recognize that there is higher calling than Republican this – or Democrat that.”
The Salinas event is this Thursday afternoon from 2 till 3 at theĀ Polytechnic’s College Center Conference Room.
