A car and a semi collide head-on in a crash on Interstate 70 in a construction zone in Dickinson County late Sunday night.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a semi was headed west in the construction zone east of Abilene. A car was going the wrong way, headed east in the westbound lane. The vehicles collided head-on.
The driver of the car, identified as 46-year-old Alonzo Lax from Topeka, was injured. He was transported to a Wichita hospital. The driver of the semi, 49-year-old Bruce Uhlenkamp from Central City, Iowa, was not badly hurt, and was not transported by EMS.
Troopers say that both drivers were buckled up.
