A skid loader was stolen from a tree line in the 6400 block of Old 81 Highway.

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of a yellow, New Holland LX565 skid loader that was last seen tucked away in a tree line.

Deputies were contacted by Keith Buttenhoff of Lincoln, Kansas after he discovered the $6,000 skid loader had been stolen sometime between October 21 and October 25.

He also reported the loss of a homemade trailer and some hedge posts he had cut from the tree line and stacked onto the trailer.

Buttenhoff said those items valued at $1,320 were stolen from the field between October 7 and October 10.
