A man from Concordia was transported to the hospital in Salina with facial injuries after leading police on a chase Sunday afternoon.
Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that an officer on patrol clocked a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Jacob Deckert speeding in the 600 block of E. Iron on Sunday at about 4:30pm.
Police say Deckert crashed his 1997 Buick Regal into a utility pole and SUV in the alley between Iron and Gypsum and then fled on foot.
He was caught a short time later on Penn Avenue and transported to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of a possible broken nose, and neck injury.
He’s facing multiple traffic violations and a charge of DUI.
