Two downtown Salina law offices were broken into during the overnight hours between Tuesday and Wednesday.
Police Captain Paul Forrester tells KSAL News that sometime between 5:20pm Tuesday and 8am Wednesday, someone damaged the front door to gain entry into Marietta, Kellogg & Price located at 148 S. 7th and rummaged through their legal files, stealing $825.
Police say folders and papers were left strewn throughout the office and estimate damage to the door at $1,000.
Police are also investigating a burglary at the office of Daniel Diederich Attorney at Law, 122 N. Santa Fe after someone damaged the front door and stole a .45 caliber Colt 1911 model from inside.
The pistol is valued at $700.
Police say the investigations are ongoing and are not linking the burglaries together at this time.
