Earl Conrad Swenson, 92, of Lindsborg, formerly of Salina, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at Bethany Home in Lindsborg.

Earl Swenson was born in Lindsborg, Kansas on January 22, 1925, the son of John Conrad Swenson and Lillie (Ornquist) Swenson. He worked as a farmer all his life. Earl and Margaret Theodora Swenson were married at the Assaria Lutheran Church on February 16, 1947, where he and Margaret have been members ever since. Earl was a member of the church board and served routinely as an usher. Earl worked at Great Plains in Assaria, Kansas and for Chris Short as a machinist. Earl graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1944.

Earl is survived by his daughter, Melanie Reed of Denver, Colorado; two sons, Kerwin Swenson and his wife Nancy of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Meredith Wayne Swenson and his wife Sheryl of Concordia, Kansas; daughter-in-law, Diana Swenson of Johnson, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; sister, Grace; brother, Leland; and son, Conrad.

Visitation will be Monday, January 8, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with family present from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Rosehill Cemetery, Bridgeport, Kansas. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm at Bethany Home Chapel, 321 N. Chestnut, Lindsborg, Kansas.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Bethany Home of Lindsborg in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
