Crop Duster Walks Away From Crash Landing

A pilot crop dusting in Rice County walks away from a crash landing on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a crop duster airplane was flying east, spreading chemical. The aircraft contacted the ground while spreading the chemical, causing the plane to crash land.

The pilot, 54-year-old Edward Smith from LeCompton, was not hurt.

The incident happened just before 4:00 Wednesday afternoon on Avenue Q at 12th Road in rural Rice County.
