Look who’s turning 22. The 2-1-1 effort is being celebrated on Monday for the 22nd year. February 11th is national 2-1-1 Day.
According to the United Way, every day thousands of people across North America turn to 2-1-1 for information and support—whether financial, domestic, health or disaster-related. 2-1-1 is a free, confidential referral and information helpline and website that connects people of all ages and from all communities to the essential health and human services they need, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
2-1-1 can be accessed by phone or computer. A toll-free call to 2-1-1 connects you to a community resource specialist in your area who can put you in touch with local organizations that provide critical services that can improve—and save—lives.
2-1-1 can be used online, at https://211kansas.bowmansystems.com/ (locally) or www.211.org (nationally).
When you have a need, 2-1-1 will help you find resources. Food assistance, housing and utility assistance, shelter, counseling, and transportation are just a few of the many services that can be found through 2-1-1.
2-1-1 is a powerful tool helping Salina Area United Way’s effort to fight for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community.
