Jack Strait, age 91 of Concordia, passed away Tuesday Feb. 27, 2018 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia. He was born Sep.28, 1926 in Mankato Min. to Charles E. & Evalyn (Earley) Strait.

Jack was the 6th of their 14 children. He joined the Navy in 1944 and served during WWII in Philippines and Guam. After the war he started work for Ross Sand & Gravel and worked there for over 40 years.

Jack is survived by three children; Renus [Donna] Strait Tabor SD, Danny [Carla] Strait Quinlan TX, Lisa [Cris] Schubert, Chaseburg, WI and daughter-in-law, Kim Strait, Concordia; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William [Karen] Strait & Bob [Betty] Strait & 2 sisters, Phillis [Hank] Koster & Patty [Paul] Smith.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Kalivoda and second wife Pauline Rossiter Strait; stepson, Dolan Rossiter; son, Jay Strait; grandson Blaize Strait & sisters; Ruth Plumlee, Helen Plumlee, Buena Reed, Alberta Lanoue, Fern Clark, Yvonne Snyder & Gwendolyn Jasperson & brothers, Jimmy and Howard Strait.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Sat., March 3, 2018 at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with Military Honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588. Visitation will be from 10-5 pm, Fri., March 2, 2018 at the funeral home.
