A teacher and administrator in Abilene has been placed on administrative leave.

According to Abilene USD 435, following an executive session during a special meeting Monday, the school board voted to place Kevin Smiley on administrative leave with pay. Smiley is an eighth grade social studies teacher and the school’s athletic director.

Because it is a personnel matter, the reason for the administrative leave was not disclosed.
