The Kansas Historical Society has contributed more than 1,600 archival images to a Civil War website.
The group said in a news release Wednesday that the “Civil War on the Western Border’ website explores the Kansas -Missouri border conflict of 1854 to 1865. It was put together through a joint effort by libraries, museums and historical societies in the two states.
Images include photographs, maps, journals and government documents from the territorial and Civil War periods in Kansas.
The Kansas City Public Library plans to maintain the website.
