Commercial flights in and out of Salina are temporarily halted. Great Lakes Airlines, the air carrier which serves Salina, suspended flights earlier this week.

Great Lakes was forced to cease flight operations by its creditors.

The situation is only temporary. A new carrier was already scheduled to take over the service in April.

SkyWest and United are still on schedule to start United regional jet flights to Denver and Chicago on Monday, April 9th.
